"A powerful woman is tribal. Where weak people see a threat, she sees the potential for growth and community. Powerful women support each other by recognizing... themselves in other women's struggles and triumphs, instead of indulging in jealousy and competitiveness. It's my duty as a powerful woman to be myself- honest, quirky, empathic, accessible, and unabashedly me. Strong women are beautiful beyond their skin- it lies in their drive, discipline, compassion, and willingness to shine and share." Kathryn Budig, yoga teacher and writer

Why is it important that people share The Pledge?
Pamper the Patriarchy wants to make the world a better, safer, fairer world for everyone. Liking, sharing and tweeting The Pledge enables people to publicly state that they are on the side of fairness for all. Sharing The Pledge also enables people associated with businesses to publicly state that their corporation will uphold the ideals of Pamper the Patriarchy, which is a powerful way to reduce and eliminate the reach of public figures who do not uphold those ideals. Thanks again Pamperers!

The book is the first publication of the UNESCO-UNAOC Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue Global Network of Universities (MILID). Launching GOING SOUTHERN: The No-Mess Guide to Success in the South

I'm delighted to announce my latest book! GOING SOUTHERN is both a personal journey and a guide to navigating the culture of the South. Whether you're a Newcomer, a Returnee, or a fan of the South, these stories & strategies will educate, energize and entertain you.

Happy reading,
Deborah Levine

Dr. Roger Brown, Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, writes in the Forward to GOING SOUTHERN:
"This fun and highly useful book is the result of Deborah J. Levine's ability to view aspects of Southern culture through more objective eyes and with the benefit of her keen insights as a relative newcomer. Ms. Levine's own family history and background prepared her to view her adopted Southern culture with appreciation for its rich idiosyncrasies, its ancient roots, and its importance to the success of travelers and immigrants from other parts of the world. Her insights are warm and vital because she delivers them in an engaging storytelling style that is itself an example of Southern literary culture."

Beate Ziehres, Editor-in-chief of the German magazine, Regjo, shares her perspective from her years in Tennessee associated with Volkswagen Chattanooga:
"In the old Southern tradition of telling stories, Deborah shares her magnificent knowledge and experience of the South with the unique kindness of the region. To me as a German part-time Southerner, her advice is worth gold."

Returning to the South from his work as an international procurement consultant and advisor, Mark A. Crowder, C.P.M. had this to say:
"Going Southern is a delightful blend of history, storytelling, and practical cross-cultural instruction. Ms. Levine's frank discussions on ethnicity, religion, and regional nuances are a must read for newcomers to the South and us old-timers alike. Grab a copy, y'all!"
